RIM are expected to launch BlackBerry 10 in the first quarter of 2013, the other day we saw a video of RIM’s new voice activated virtual assistant in BlackBerry 10, and now we have some more details on other new features that will be available in the OS.
It looks like one of the new devices that Sony will announce at IFA is the new Sony Xperia Mint, the device has been leaked and reviewed by the guys over at Mobile Review.

In preparation for the Olympics, Samsung has turned the Galaxy S III into a really amazing hotel accessory. If you are lucky enough to stay in one of the 40 rooms in London’s Stratford Holiday Inn that they have equipped to use the smartphone, you will be one happy camper.
Nintendo’s results for Q1 of 2012 show growth in profit for the company. Gross profit was 24.9 billion yen. That’s over double last year’s Q1. Operating income is negative, however is reduced since last quarter’s statement, which is probably due to very good 3DS sales.
There were some rumors back in June that according to Star Wars: The Old Republic’s lead designer, they were considering the free-to-play model. This would let gamers play the game for free without subscription fees. In this model developers make money by selling perks, items, gold and other in game goodies for cash. At the time, the developers were only considering the model.

Back in June we heard that Nokia was acquiring imaging technology firm Scalado, a company which develops a a range of imaging applications for mobile devices.
More bad news for Samsung this morning, as Apple has won a European ban on Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 7.7 Android tablet in a German court, and the ban apparently applies to the whole of Europe and not just Germany.
It looks like there is another Android smartphone from Huawei headed to US mobile carrier AT&T as the guys over at Phonescoop have discovered a yet to be announced Huawei device for AT&T at the FCC.

The Windows 8 Consumer Preview for a few months and although I'm okay with Metro replacing the Start Menu, I hate seeing the new interface by default every time I reboot. When Windows 7 starts, you hit a login screen (assuming it's enabled) and then you're brought straight to the desktop.
